Baltimore-based street artist Gaia recently finished Frontiers, a large-scale mural for Open Walls Baltimore 2. It’s canvassed across a façade in the arts district of Station North. The abstract work toys with the viewer’s sense of perception and plays with hue, saturation, and transparency. The subject matter of the piece is eclectic; it includes Bierstadt’s Looking Down Yosemite Valley, California, a Giambologna mercury figure, a stately tiger as an homage to the Korean influence in that part of the city, and his friend Fruit.
